The ideal candidate will:

·         DCS in administration or accounting.

·         Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar position.

·         Minimum 3 years of experience in a unionized environment.

·         Be a member of the CPA - an asset.

·         Extensive knowledge in MS Office (advanced Excel).

·         Knowledge of the ADP/Ceridian systems – An asset.

·         Knowledge of SAP – Essential.

·         Knowledge of the social benefits and pension plan.

·         Good level of bilingualism – both spoken and written.

An internationally-known manufacturing company is in the process of hiring for a Payroll Manager position. We are looking for someone who stands out for their judgement and proactivity. Are you ready for this unionized environment?


Your role will be to:

·         Handle the payroll for about 100 employees (Unionized).

·         Verify the time punches/sheets and contact managers for a follow up.

·         Oversee that the payroll data is consistent, confidential and compliant after the compilation and handling.

·         Transfer payroll reports and data (hours, adjustments and vacation files) to the head office after validation.

·         Verify and balance all requested transactions and adjustments.

·         Manage the vacation bank files (including deductions and taxable benefits).

·         Update the deductions file for union dues and other contributions (Pension plan, group insurance, etc.).

·         Verify the CSST cheques to see if there is a discrepancy between the payment made by the CSST and the employer’s reimbursement.

·         Update files and data related to payroll management; Employment, termination, position change, vacations and social benefits.

·         Write general ledger journal entries and balance accounts related to the payroll in SAP (end of month and end of year).

·         Be the resource person to answer questions regarding the payroll.

·         Carry out any tasks similar to this position.
